Facing the ugliness of humans....what to do

Ask yourself do you cast a blind eye on the ugliness of people around you? The people who use Jesus as a swear word, who exploit others, or simply gratify their own wants ambitions cravings. Do you just let it pass because “you don’t wanna cause trouble”?  be assured, that is not God s way!

Take time my friend, read 1 samuel 2:11-3:21 or 3:1-21

Allow me to OUTLINE some key facts for you:

Focus of this whole passage lies in the contrast between the sons of Eli and the call of Samuel. Eli’s son exploited the people, but far worse, used the sacrifices of Gods people for themselves (2:12-17) even Eli’s remonstrations with them are no avail!(2:22-25). They are corrupt  happy continue to be so. Now, in contrast are the repeated allusions to Samuel (2:18-26) and the man of God who came to warn Eli (2:27-36) The sad thing is that Eli WANTS to be obedient to God, yet is responsible for his son’s behaviour. As a result? They will all be rejected!

The story (very real) of Samuel’s call is wellknown...(3:1-21). The key important thing is LISTENING – Samuel hears (:4) mistakes where it is from initially (:5-6) but then hears, not simply the call, but God s judgment on Eli & his son’s (:11-14)... the truth is usually painful, but if one can hear it, act, it is wonderful. God s call is not to gratify Samuel, but to help ISRAEL be aware of the presence and purpose of God. This is always so know it....God calls us, not to make us feel good, but to do His will. His perfect will.

May i ask you my friend, is there any situation which God is calling you to confront or in which you should intervene? Pray  for strength to say and do the difficult things, and the humility to recognize that God is also chastening you in the process...
